Republicans Are Bad For Your Health

We all arrive at the truth at our own speed. Some do it faster than others if its something they care about.

I saw a post earlier today of a friend who said she still had friends who were Republicans. I have no Republican ‘friends’ because my definition of ‘friend’ is different from theirs.

There’s a line in Ben Affleck’s movie The Town where he says, “I need your help. I can’t tell you what it is, you can never ask me about it later, and we’re gonna hurt some people.”

His partner answers, “Whose car are we going to take?”

If you are lucky in life, you might get one of those kinds of friends in your life where you can count on them to help you bury the bodies and bring some lime with them. I have five friends like that.

You know what other trait they have? They love me enough to always tell me the truth and they all know they can tell me the truth without consequence because that’s what friends do for you. They’re also all extremely intelligent with life experience that has kicked their collective asses and they didn’t break under the strain of life’s slings and arrows. It made them better people. It breaks lesser people and makes them bitter shells of their former selves.
